The short answer is that I am absolutely convinced that I would make an excellent judge. I base my opinions on certian facts: (1) Judicial Experience: I have been a voluntary temporary judge for the Los Angeles Superior Court since 1998. I have personally presided over 1000 cases, mostly small claims and unlawful detainers, and none of my judicial decisions or verdicts have been overturned on appeal. I have also been a court-appointed Arbitrator and Mediator during the same time period. (2) Legal Experience: I have been practicing law full time in California for the past 22 years. Moreover, I am currently licensed to practice law in a total of 15 states, which is likely more than any single attorney in the United States (or even the World). Indeed, I currently have at least one case pending in court in each of those states. I have even appeared in cases in 54 out of the 58 counties in the State of California. I am an experieced trial attorney, conducting over 60 jury trials -- I am a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, to which only 1% of the lawyers in the United States would be elligible to be a member. Although I mainly handle consumer law cases at this time, I have handled many types of cases throughout my legal career, including criminal, probate, family law, juvenile law, civil rights and civil litigation. I am the ONLY private sector attorney in ANY of the current judicial races in Los Angeles County to have been rated "Well Qualified" by the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

What we need, in my opinion, is balance in our courts. We need judges who have a broad range of legal experiences. We need judges who have a reasoned and calm temperament. Judges who will listen to what the parties and their lawyers have to say, and who actually care about trying to understand and appreciate what their respective legal positions are. Judges who will attempt to be fair and unbiased to everyone. Judges who will treat everyone with respect and courtesy. Judges without personal agendas, and who will simply and fairly uphold the rule of law.

I would be that kind of judge.

This is why I am running for this office.

As a judge I would simply enforce the laws on the books, despite my personal opinions. If abortion was illegal, I would enforce that law, and vice versa. My job would be to enforce the laws, not legislate them.
